About

DonRoams is a place for the road notes, photos, projects, meals, gear, ideas, and stories that come from living part of life in motion.

I’m Don, based in the Northeast, but often pointed somewhere else. Sometimes that means heading south for warmer weather, rolling through the Midwest, or chasing big skies, red rock, mountain passes, and open space in Utah and Colorado. My van is part travel companion, part tiny basecamp, part mobile office, and part excuse to see what is around the next bend.

This site is about vanlife, but not only vanlife. It is also where I share the things that make the miles worth remembering: good food, interesting places, useful gear, friends met along the way, photos from the road, half-formed ideas, and the occasional lesson learned the hard way.

You’ll also find posts about building things with code, especially PHP, Laravel, and Vue.js. Some days I’m parked near a trailhead or a quiet lake. Other days I’m debugging something with coffee in hand and a view out the side door.

DonRoams is less about polished travel guides and more about the real mix of road life, creative work, curiosity, and everyday adventure. It is a journal, a notebook, a photo album, and a workshop for whatever I’m exploring next.

Thanks for coming along for the ride.
