Working from the road does not always mean working from a campsite.

Sometimes I just need a place to stop for a few hours, get the laptop out, connect Starlink, and get some work done.

On this day, I found a picnic overlook.

It had a place to park, a table, open sky, and a view that made it hard to believe I was there to work.

That is pretty much the ideal combination.

With Starlink, I do not have to worry much about cell service. What matters more is having a clear enough view of the sky and a place where I can set up without being in anyone’s way. An overlook like this works well because it is already meant for people to stop, sit for a while, and enjoy the scenery.

I just happened to bring a laptop.

I set up at the picnic table, got connected, and turned the overlook into my office for the day.

There is something a little strange about answering emails and working on a computer while looking out over a landscape most people probably stopped to photograph.

Every once in a while, I would look up from the screen and remember where I was.

That is one of the things I like most about working while traveling. I do not always need a campground, a coffee shop, or a formal workspace.

Sometimes I just need a table, some open sky, and a good place to pull over.

This one happened to come with a pretty nice view.
